If you're searching for paint in Belfast, chances are you've got a decorating project in mind. Maybe the living room is overdue a refresh, you've finally decided to tackle that hallway, or you've spent the last three weekends staring at colour charts and still can't decide between two shades of beige.
Whatever you're planning, choosing the right paint can make all the difference. And sometimes, a bit of advice from someone who actually knows their paint is worth its weight in gold.
At Nobletts Wallpaper in Belfast city centre, we're passionate about helping people make their homes look fantastic. We've been doing it since 1939, and while wallpaper might be in our name, our paint department is every bit as important to us.
So, if you're wondering where to buy paint in Belfast, here's why we're well worth a visit.
Looking for the Best Paint Shop in Belfast?
We know there are plenty of places to buy paint around Belfast. From big DIY warehouses to smaller independent shops, you're certainly not short of options.
But there's a big difference between somewhere that simply sells paint and somewhere that helps you choose the right paint.
At Nobletts, we believe decorating should be enjoyable, not a guessing game.
Our team can help you work out which finish will suit your room, talk you through different products and help you find colours that work with your wallpaper, furniture and flooring.
Whether you're decorating your first home, refreshing a rental property or taking on a complete renovation, you'll find friendly, practical advice without the hard sell.
That's what we believe makes a great paint shop.

Not Sure Which Paint Finish You Need? We'll Help
Choosing a paint colour is one thing. Choosing the right finish is another.
Matt, durable matt, eggshell, satin, gloss... it's enough to make your head spin if you're not familiar with the differences.
And getting it wrong can be frustrating, particularly after you've spent a weekend preparing and painting a room.
That's where a specialist paint store in Belfast really comes into its own.
Our team can help you understand which products are best suited to your project.
For example:
-
Living rooms and bedrooms: Choosing the right emulsion for the finish and look you want.
-
Busy hallways and family spaces: Exploring more durable, washable finishes that can cope with everyday life.
-
Kitchens and bathrooms: Finding suitable products for rooms where moisture and regular cleaning are important considerations.
-
Doors, skirting boards and woodwork: Understanding the differences between eggshell, satin and gloss.
-
Exterior walls: Choosing appropriate exterior coatings designed to withstand the Northern Ireland weather.
You don't need to know all the technical details before you visit. That's what we're here for.
Matching Paint With Wallpaper? That's Our Speciality
Here's something that makes Nobletts a little different from your average Belfast paint shop.
We're not just paint specialists. We're wallpaper people too.
And if there's one thing we've learnt over the years, it's that getting your wallpaper and paint colours working together can completely transform a room.
Perhaps you've chosen a beautiful floral wallpaper and need the perfect background colour for the remaining walls.
Or you've fallen in love with a dramatic feature wall but aren't sure what colour to paint the woodwork.
Bring us a sample of your wallpaper, a photo of your room or even a cushion you're trying to coordinate with.
We'll help you explore colours that complement your scheme rather than compete with it.
It's one of the reasons so many customers enjoy visiting us in person. You can look at wallpaper, explore paint colours and get advice on the whole room, all under one roof.
Why Shop Local for Paint in Belfast?
There's something reassuring about buying from a shop where the people behind the counter genuinely care about what you're trying to achieve.
Nobletts has been a family-run Belfast business since 1939. We're now in our fourth generation, and interiors have always been at the heart of what we do.
We've seen decorating trends come and go, from bold patterned walls to minimalist neutrals and back to colour and pattern again.
But one thing hasn't changed: we believe good advice and good service still matter.
When you visit Nobletts, you're supporting an independent Belfast business and getting help from people who spend their days talking about wallpaper, paint and decorating.
You can read more about our history and the people behind the business on our About Nobletts page.
